Capturing Life- Traveling & Photography

May 20, 2016

We don’t get enough of them, do we? Girl Getaways are the best, and can be just what the doctor ordered. As women, artists, souls in need of adventure and inspiration, we need to do these more often. A good Girl Getaway provides the space to let go a little, discover something new and it gives you the chance to get to know the people you love a little more! Last year I had some pretty memorable girl getaways and today I’m excited to share my Play Viva one with you.

Sarah and I traveled to this incredible resort in Mexico last October to gather footage for her new youtube channel on sustainable living. We stayed in this most beautiful bungalow right on the beach at this divine place, Playa Viva. I felt like I was one with the sea. Going to be and waking up with the ocean right next to you has got to be one of the best things in the world, or at least my world. This resort is totally off the grid and from the moment you set foot on this property you are instantly transported to paradise. Time slows down and the anxiety from the rest of the world falls away like a dream in the night.

The breeze flows through the entire resort, as there is no walls to block the fresh ocean air from glistening your skin. There is beautiful architecture and textures from all over the world, and a warm and friendly staff is there to takes care of all your needs. We ate like queens from the fresh seafood, to the homemade tortillas and local vegetables, to the fresh herbs that are grown on the resort. Everything is farm to table and the coffee oh my, the coffee is from this magical place that has been run by 1 family for over  a 100 years. Everythings was remarkable!  The food was so fantastic. I don’t think I left any meal with room left in my stomach. It was one of the best culinary adventures I’ve ever been on.

We drank basil margaritas by the pool, woke up at sunrise to shoot beautiful footage, went on photo adventures on 4×4’s, shot sexy photos on the beach, and met some incredible people! It was pure paradise. My my heart is so filled with gratitude that I am able to adventure like this. I went to photography school because I wanted to travel the world. It’s been 10 years since I have graduated from Brooks, and although I don’t travel for a living, I have had some really epic photo adventures.  I may not travel as much as I would like to, but I plan on changing that!

Girl Getaways is going to be a new section on my new website! I’m so excited! It combines the things I love the most, adventures in magical places and shooting beautiful women! How have i not done this sooner!??

Here’s some fun outtakes from the shoot! Tomorrow I will be posting all the sexy photos I took.
