Month: January, 2015
I love the New Year! I sit down and go over all my goals from the previous year and look at what I did and did not do, where I failed, where I succeeded and I form a new plan. It’s exciting and I know if I don’t sit down to do it, I am not creating my life. Being the creator of my life constantly involves looking into my failures, figuring out why I failed, so I can be a better person, a better photographer and a better business woman, and better partner.
Over the last 15 years of my life I’ve dug deep into who I am and why I do the things I do. I’ve come face to face with the ugly and I’m ok with it. I don’t operate the way most people do and I would rather people call me on my shit any day than just letting it slide by. What gets me up everyday is living an authentic life, in every area of my life. I just want to be the best I can be and that usually doesn’t involve all things sugar and spice and everything nice.
Being the best version of yourself requires constant work and looking into what makes you tick and this can be really confronting. However, once you embrace all that you are, the good, the bad, the ugly, THEN you can really get REAL. Everything you are has beauty and strength. With all the flaws, mistakes and failures we are perfect. We just can’t assign too much meaning to these things because that will just keep you down. Once we take responsibility for our actions, we have the freedom to move forward with power.
Curtis, my amazing talented boyfriend is doing this great course right now. It’s an empowerment course and his first assignment is to find out the WHY. So, I have decided to do the assignments with him. “The two most important days of your life are, the day you were born, and the day you find out why.” Mark Twain
When I picked up a camera 20 plus years ago, ha, can’t age myself too much. I’ll never forget the day, when something special happened inside of me. I was on the beach, I was 13 and I was alone. I don’t know where all my friends were, I was probably running off as I usually did because I love being alone. I had a silly little disposable camera and I was shooting the ocean when this lovely little girl in a pretty little summer dress ran by me kicking up sand while her long hair blowing in the wind. She glanced at me, click. There is was, magic. I felt a connection to the earth and my surrounds in a way I had never felt before. I was present and everything stood still.
Now, I look at my pictures and what I create I and I can honestly tell you I cry all the time when I edit my photos. I’m so in love with people, with the world and everything around me that I just get overwhelmed with emotion and gratitude. I get to do what I love for a living, that’s all I’ve ever wanted.
My “Why” is the CONNECTION! The CONNECTION that I create with my clients, the CONNECTION in a simple glance, the CONNECTION into peoples souls when I photograph them, the CONNECTION in everything around us. I want to feel it all, experience everything I can in this lifetime and when I’m 100, I can look through my life and re-live all of the connections I made and lives I touched and touched me. I think I will be content. The passion in what I do lies in creating CONNECTIONS and exploring the beauty that exists in every given moment.
What is your why?
This little topic has been getting quite hot over the last couple years. More and more couples have been requesting couples boudoir. Over the last couple months I’ve shot some really beautiful couples boudoir photos and couples dudeoir, but this is… a very intimate session and it’s been very hard for me to get my sexy couples to let me release their photos, which I totally understand!! I totally respect my clients privacy 110%! But it does hurt a little when I can’t show off some these epic photos I’m so proud of.
Soooo….. I’ve been thinking! I’m going to do a little contest, because I need a sexy couple that’s going to let me post their photos. Yes, obvisiously they will be tastefull and classy like everything you see here! So here’s your opportunity to get a free couples boudoir session. You of course will need to sign a model release and I will gift you the session and 3 high resolution retouched photos plus three beautiful prints.
I am GIFTING a couples boudoir session to ONE lucky couple! The WINNER will be chosen by the most inspiring LOVE STORY! This contest will run for the next two weeks and I will be choosing a winner on January 24th.
Over the last year I have been developing a new business that will go hand and hand with my Boudoir Business. It’s been a long strenuous process to come up with a unique concept that has never been done before. Over the last few years, it’s become clear that I am a serial entrepreneur and coming up with clever ideas is what I live for. Staying on track can be somewhat challenging for me as I have new ideas everyday and I can hardly keep up with myself. Thank God for evernote!
Coming up with the damn name for this business nearly took 6 months. It had to be perfect, it had to be sexy, edgy, classy. It had to be high end and above all it had to be mysterious.
I’ve been holding out on putting it out there because I wanted to make sure I had it all protected, licensed, the premium domain in my hands, and today, I can finally call it mine. Midnight Muse is going to be the seductive ecommerse store you have ever laid your eyes on. Midnight Muse is things sexy! It will sell unique art, lingerie, toys from all over the world.
I will be doing all my own photography for the site, cross marketing it with an e-magazine and pushing it all over my boudoir site! It is going to be aaaaamazing! So… Stay tuned!
This is the vision board I created to help me come up with a name. I’d love to hear your thoughts. I think I hit the nail on the head.
Happy New Year! As we say goodbye to 2014, I wanted to take a moment to thank you very much for your support this past year. So with much gratitude, I say THANK YOU!
Last year was one of my best years yet, and with all the passion and love I have put into my boudoir business, it can only get better. I have been working relentlessly for a very long time to be a leader in my industry and in the world of boudoir. I am a firm believer that hard work pays off and so does listening to your heart! I can work harder and longer than most people I know and passion is my fuel, so as far as I can see, I’m unstoppable!

And Cheers to this sexy woman! She was married just last week and she gave him a beautiful box of bridal boudoir images right before their wedding.
What a perfect gift! I am loving this new trend of bridal boudoir. It’s such a magical time! You feel great, you look great, and it’s such a significant time in your life to remember all of the feelings you felt and all the excitement you had. You are marrying the love of you life, you dreamed him up, you found him, he is yours! What a wonderful time to celebrate you!
